Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler is an interesting and strange book. I still have not made up my mind if it is a Fantasy novel or Realistic fiction book.
Lisabeth Lewis has a very strange "dream" in which Death tells her she is the newest incarnation of Famine. You know, from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Anyway, in real life she is an anorexic teen spiraling towards death. Funny, huh? Anyway she has to learn how to be Famine and quickly because War has decided that she does not like Lisabeth and wants to kill her. All while this is going on, her inner voice, The Thin voice keeps telling her that no one loves her and also tells her how many calories everything is and how long she will have to exercise to keep the weight off.
Her mind is constantly being tortured from all sides and Lisabeth has to decide if she wants to live or die in both of worlds she lives in.
