Asimov said “sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. This book is a phenomenal cross-reference of Earth’s science and Discworld’s magic. It is not just super funny but also a very educational read too. If you always avoided science classes in school, or had to suffer through them regardless of your dislike, this is the book for you. It shows some latest scientific discoveries in a very humorous fashion. For instance, did you know that the latest experiments show that “big numbers”, ones that the science believed never changed (e.g. gravity and light speed constants), were different when the universe was older? That would mean that nothing is “exact” and the laws of nature are not so defined after all. Which would mean we might as well believe in magic :-)
