Lescroart is high in the pantheon of mystery writers that I read, Being a traditionalist, I was a little hesitant to read this because Dismas Hardy, Lescroart's usual lead character, makes only a few brief cameos in this book - what a mistake it would have been to miss this. You've got the regular characters of Abe Glitzky and Wes Farrell. Ro Curtlee is a truly nefarious villain and Lescroart is not hesitant to kill off a number of people including good guys. There's a subplot that adds to the enjoyment and the book is absolutely gripping. Awesome!
