This is one of those books that when you have already read twenty or thirty pages you start wondering why you were reading it. Then it goes better.
It's good if you like history, you get to understand what happened in Africa and Peru during the last years of the XIX century and the first of the XX century due to the rubber industry.
It is about the life of Roger Cassement, an Irish nationalist who formerly worked for the British diplomacy in Africa and Peru. He was the one who revealed atrocities to the Indians from the rubber companies operating there.
