** spoiler alert ** The main character of Zach’s Lie is Jack Osborne. Because of his father’s illegal activity, he and his family are put in the witness protection program. Jack’s new name becomes Zach Granger. Zach has to get through a tough time in his life, without revealing who he really is and putting his whole family’s lives in danger. The novel takes place in Elko, Nevada in present time. The tone of the novel is breathtaking, because of how Zach has to fight to stay sane while he tries to cope with his new life.
I would highly recommend this book because of the suspense and excitement towards the end of the book. For example when the book said, “If you kill anyone in this tent you will never get the journal and I can guarantee it will find its way to the police.” Also when the book said, “’On the contrary, Mr. Custodian.’ Alonzo leveled his pistol at Zach’s head. ‘I insist.’” Both these examples show the level of suspense in the book.
