This book is about the demise of a European newspaper founded by an American. Each chapter gives a brief glimpse of someone who is affiliated with the paper, ranging from the editor-in-chief to an obsessive reader. In between their stories is a history of the newspaper, from its beginning to its end. Not the most upbeat novel, but the newspaper industry is not in an upbeat position.
