First off, I would like to say, between work and sleep, I was able finish this book within 20 hours of picking it up. I felt compelled to finish the book to find out what happens.

I was intrigued not only by the plots and counterplots that run between the characters of the novel. I found myself very interested by the characters themselves and the development of their personalities. It is obvious that they have grown a lot over the previous books, but they also grow more. It felt to be more than just another novel in the queue.

Occasionally, I did have issues visualizing what things looked like. My primary example is Holly. I do not know what Colfer's elves are supposed to look like (Neither had I read the previous novels, though I want to now). However, the detail is very specific at times as well. He seems to become complacent for regular fixtures to his books.
