To be honest I've only read one other Jodi Picoult book, "My Sister's Keeper" but she is WILDLY popular with readers at the library where I work so I was happy to receive this ARC in the mail earlier this month. What surprised me was that a male teen patron nearly grabbed the book out of my hand last week because he was so excited to see a new one by her! He asked if he could read it next but then when I related the story to my assistant director, she expressed high interest as well, so she got it next. When I had it with me in a doctor's office, the nurse asked me about and then my doctor asked me about it yesterday. That's one of the fun perks of the job: ARCs. Also, the novel comes with a CD which features a musician singing songs that the author wrote the lyrics for. I did end up listening to it before I passed it onto another reader (I'm guessing the novels will have it as well...not sure, though) and it is nice, folky music. Nothing memorable.

Without a spoiler alert, I will say that just as I was really getting into this book I came to a point in the novel where I had to put it down. The characters behaved in a way that just did not make sense for me. So I worked on my bookclub book and a few others I had lying around unfinished before returning to this one.
