it was amazing
bookshelves: fancy-fiction
Read in August, 1981

With Kafka's reputation, you always expect there to be some
identifiable evil or at least an obvious meany that his protagonists are
up against, but since there isn't, it's scarier. Everyone
appears to be helping, guiding one along the path, but
getting no where. Always like Kafka's line, that seems to
describe his themes - "There is Hope, but not for us".
