MARC & JACE:

Well we guess it would be nice
If we could lick your cat fur
'Cause you can make a tom purr
No hotter furry than you.

JACE:

But I've got to think twice
Before Marc beats me 'til I die
That shit hurts; I ain't gonna lie
Maybe a kiss or two...

FAYTHE:

Oh, but I need some time off
To go to grad school
I'll read some books and send my dad the bill.
And when the mean Enforcers
Drag my ass home, yeah
I'll forget about my boyfriend,
And get all up in your grill.

'Cause I gotta be Faythe...

Stray-beh.
I know you're on a kidnap spree
But that just can't apply to me
The special snowflake that I am.
Stray-beh.
Oh crap, you weren't fucking around
I'll talk some shit until I'm found
I'm lucky that I'm pretty good in a jam
and can hit like a man.

GALLA:

Before this plotline
There comes an ocean
Of TSTL moments I abhor.
And so I reconsider
My TBR pile
Well I need a new book, Goodreads
But I don't think I'll read more...

Of the hot mess that's Faythe.
She's gotta be Faythe.
She's gotta be Faythe.
She's gotta be Faythe, Faythe, Faythe.

AH I enjoyed this even though Faythe got on my nerves.

Galla Yeah, from what I've read, I suspect she'll get on my nerves too, lol. Still, I'll give it a shot, esp b/c it's a really good Kindle price & it sounds like the series gets better & better.

Regina Oh! I can't wait to hear what you think, I just got this one too. I have read here on GR that people seem to be torn between this series and Women of the Otherworld, AH did you feel the same way?

AH My all time favorite Were couple is Elena and Clay from Kelley Armstrong's world. I find that Kelley Armstrong's series has some similarities to Mercy Thompson just my opinion).

I did enjoy Stray - I find that while Faythe is TSTL sometimes, it is a function of her age and her experience in life. She is 22 years old and she is trying to be independent, though sometimes her attempts at independence happen at the wrong times. I've read the second book and I will be continuing the series because I do see growth and development of her character. Besides, I loved the mafia style family setup and the books kept me entertained.

Laura Lulu I really liked this series, but I am one who wasn't always a fan of Faythe. She does a lot of growing throughout the series, but I just found her to be a very selfish character. A lot of that comes from the shifter world she lives in and how rare and pampered the females are--she is a princess, and sometimes has a hard time with empathy.

But still, a great series. :)

Megan Excellent review, Galla! It's just missing one thing:

description

hee hee =)

Galla Ha ha! Yes, I should have added an image. Maybe one from the back, too, just for the parallel with the Stray cover.

Megan Dumbass me was reading your review wondering if you set it to a certain song.... but it wasn't until the very end that the lightbulb went off over my head, lol!

Laura Lulu Lol @ Stray-beh!

That part is the best :)

Laura Lulu Now I wish Galla would read the rest of the books. I'd love to see the awesome ditty she whips out with more character development & back story under her belt. :)

Well, it's not really a song that's high on anyone's radar these days. I wonder if anyone born in the 90s will have any idea what I'm talking about even with the images, lol.

Ha ha ha! Well, I haven't decided I definitely won't. I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea of reading a book with the sole purpose of bastardizing another '80s song...

Make it Duran Duran, please! =)

The Holy Terror Epic review.

::slow claps::

"Wild Boys" has promise. "Hungry Like the Werecat" wouldn't have quite the right ring to it...

Laura Lulu "It Takes Two" works well for later in the series. Although I do admit I'm partial to "Hungry Like the Werecat".

How about "Hungry Like the Tabby"?

lol, thanks. Faythe put the boom-boom into my heart.

"It Takes Two" is a great multi-purpose song. It would do nicely, I'm sure. (You're actually tempting me to read the next book, btw, ha!)

Laura Lulu I'm trying. I'm hoping she jitterbugs into your brain.

Galla If I decide I can keep from going a bang-bang-bang on my Kindle, I just might.

AH I really want you to read the next one, just for another song - that was awesome! Great review. She does get a little less TSTL in the next one, but not much.
I'm with Laura - I like the series. Faythe is fun to make fun of.

Laura Lulu Yes, I enjoyed the series--not a fave, but it was good and it was also nice that it's an actual finished series--rare around these parts.

But I never truly loved Faythe--AH is right, I thoroughly enjoyed ripping on her. Not as much as I enjoy ripping on Mac in the 1st Fever book, and for different reasons, but still enjoyable. But she never quite made the sun shine brighter than Doris Day for me.

Galla Faythe's perfectly aware she's done stupid things after she's done them, too. And then she does another stupid thing, lol.

I think I'd kind of like to see this storyline end up with Faythe and Marc married, only for them to find out that Marc can't sire werecats since he was bitten, not born into the Pride. Schadenfreude?

Missie LOL! Now I'm gonna have that song stuck in my head all day.

And, I believe I spotted Faythe in my class last night, if the tube top dress paired cowboy boots were any indication.

Oh, dear! If she wasn't baring any midriff, perhaps mine & Regina's point still stands.

Bianca Haha I really liked the book, but your review made me laugh. :D

Ashley best book review. ever. period.

Kajol I can't stop laughing.

One word: AWESOME.

Thank you for giving me one good reason of having wasted the time I did on this book.. I just couldn't find an up-side to it, except Marc and Jace. But now I have this review to think about and laugh. I thank you once again. :P
