it was amazing
bookshelves: young-adult, 11-20

I loved this book. It was a really quick read and very interesting. It talks about Cassie and her siblings and their first encounters with racial hatred that took place in the civil right days. It was cool to see the events from a child's point of view. Very good read!!

It was amazing to see how important owning land was and to see the kind of freedom it gave the family in comparison with other families. It was sad to see TJ and how he ruined his life by messing with men who weren't good and used him.
