This book is one of Dumas' lesser known. It takes a complete deviation from the Musketeer novels, and is much shorter. The story is about a man who wants to grow a black tulip for a contest. There are some good plot twists, and a happy ending. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and it was a quick read. The characters were a little one-dimensional; the bad guy was evil and the good girl was angelic, etc. But there were parts that were quite humorous, in a way that we are familiar with after reading Dumas' other works. I would recommend it as a pleasant quick diversion.
