I thought the information was interesting, and the concept and structure were fabulous, but the style drove me batty – it seemed to me like the writing was geared toward a much younger audience than the content.
The book also left me with the impression that most of the insight archeologists glean from their discoveries they derive from unsupported assumptions and lots of jumped-to conclusions. I think this was because the book dealt with SO much information that some oversimplification was necessary. If some of the glossed-over details had been included, I think the book would have given a more accurate picture of the archeological process.
