I wanted to like this book. I thought surely it would turn out to be an accept yourself and be happy type novel but it wasn't. Two girls meet at fat camp, can't really stand each other but leave as best friends. They leave camp sizes smaller and realize friendship was the real gift not the weight loss. BUT. As far as I could tell from the text each lost 15-25 lbs. Hardly FAT. There are also about a zillion product mentions in the book (I-Pod, Juicy Couture, Bose speakers....) I understand trying to appeal to the target audience (middle school/teens) but I have issues with encouraging materialism in young people. You've heard it before so I won't go on... yada.. yada.. sending the wrong message to kids...
