This book was pretty good. I doubt Ken Follett could write a bad book. I think it was a lot different than I was expecting. Even though the plot took place over a short 10 days, it still seemed like a very slow-building suspense than a page-turner. The characters weren't as fleshed out as they are in his epics (though how could they be?), but the details of undercover military operations and civilian life during the war were interesting (though a thing or two seemed unlikely - I won't give the plot away by mentioning specifics). I liked that the main characters were a bunch of tough girls who were very, VERY diverse. Follett seems to love strong women, which is probably part of why I love him so much.

I will warn readers that there is quite graphic and disturbing violence, and you probably don't want to read this is you can't handle that aspect.

I believe I'll try another one of his historical suspense sometime. I've heard Eye of the Needle is good.
