it was ok

i have to start out by saying that i'm not the hugest salatin fan. since his appearance in the pollan book, folks bow down to him like a god. meanwhile, he is a pretty sexist guy.

all that said, i found this book to be a good source of cheerleading/advice/wisdom for aspiring or land-seeking farmers looking to start out on their own. he knows what it takes--lots of sacrifice and discomfort--and he lays it out pretty honestly. it's laced with a good dose of his goofy humor and heavy handed one-liners, which makes it mildly entertaining.
