liked it

i never thought id say this but... i want more dick! this may be a bit plodding for some folks but it's right up my alley. i really enjoyed it. it seems a relatively straight forward, sort-of pulp, story at first yet dick eventually commands your attention to the ubiquitous nature of self-deceit. of course, the author is so good at creating a whirlwind in your head but in this book the characters are not above you (i, for one, really identified with Al and his hot and cold- and apparently apathetic- behavior). i liken it to the movie miller's crossing in that the story unfolds as a combination of a lot of people's perception of events and their reaction to them. fun.
