** spoiler alert ** What with this book and the one before it, this series seems to have picked up again (in my opinion). I've really enjoyed these last two.

There were a LOT of plot threads going on in this book, and I thought Harris handled them really well. It didn't feel forced that so many plotlines kept showing up, and they each got another chunk of resolution that even made me excited to see what will happen in the next few books.

And Sookie didn't even get beat up this time, really!

I'm loving the developments with Eric, but am also a little sad over Bill, which is probably good (that means I still like him as a character). Quinn got the boot, which is tooooootally fine with me. The vampire and Were politics are heating up in interesting ways, and there are a few new fae and telepathic twists to boot!

On to book 9!
