I really liked the main character's odd ability to taste the emotions of those who prepare food in the food that they make. The story of her dealing with her mother's baggage and then her own is a good one. I wish I could've known more about what was happening with her brother. I guess part of the point was that he was so alone in dealing with it, but it was hard to relate or become invested in what was happening with him, and a lot of time was spent on it. Also, the author read her own book, and she read long descriptions slowly, savoring them, in a way that I could not while listening. It occasionally got to me. All in all, interesting to think about, but not spend a long, literary time considering someone else's thoughts on the topic.

Danny Darn, I was planning to listen to it. Maybe I'll put the book back on hold.

Andrea You might like her. 5 months later I can still remember exactly what her voice sounded like.
