I wouldn't state myself as a big fan of TB's - in fact on analysis I'd probably place myself further left of him on the political spectrum - but that doesn't stop this from giving an intriguing and at times informative insight into 10 years of events that shaped the UK.

Personal and telling exchanges between individuals who made some of the biggest political calls during my lifetime provide a welcome relief to often heavy political rhetoric (though the author would probably challenge the latter notion!), but what's most interesting is the image of the man himself. Clearly this is a man who carries the weight of controversial decisions heavily in his heart, and at times the dialogue can appear to convey a desperate plea for understanding (or forgiveness??) for these.

As my first political biography AND my first Kindle book, I'd probably say "not bad, could be worse".
