I am endlessly impressed with Michael Pollan's writing. He is simply an excellent journalistic writer. This book made me want to move to a farm and grow my own organic vegetables for a minute, but only a minute. In the end it just made me really think about where my food comes from, how it got to my plate, and what it means that I'm eating it. Pollan manages to pose this questions without preaching or evangelizing: he acknowledges his own dilemmas, such as witnessing animal slaughter yet wanting to eat meat. Overall, I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't get something out of this book.
