9 children from a destroyed planet are hiding out on earth until they can build up their powers and skills enough to fight. The ones who destroyed their planet have also come to earth and are hunting them down one by one--but they can only be killed in order. This is number Four's story.

I was drawn into the book from page one. I thought the alien aspect would turn me off but it was well done. I cared about the characters early on and there was enough intrigue and suspense to keep me going. I was not so impressed with the apex, I thought that was a little overdone and lacking (you'd have to read it to understand) but I was invested enough in the characters to find out what happened. Overall it was a good read.
