Thought it is not Lehane best work, it was interesting to revisit Patrick and Angela. The story grabbed me and held me; though the main characters were on the passive side. That is, there was a lot of waiting for things to unfold, rather than Patrick and Angela taking action and making things happen. I thought Lehane was bit a rusty with the characters as well; it's been a while since he gave them a voice and it showed. On one hand, I thought it was a bit of a cop-out to return to the Amanda McCready story instead of showing us a new story. But on the other hand, I liked seeing the way things turned out. I think Lehane did a little too much telling instead of showing us Patrick's mix of regret and sense of rightness. But even with its fault, the story was good and I liked it.
