It took me at least half of the book to really start believing the story, and even by then, the characters didn't quite feel real to me. There's something thin about both Clay and Hannah, as if they're both just pictures of the roles they play in high school, and even though Hannah is supposed to have such a distinct voice, it kind of fell flat for me. Nonetheless, by the time I was halfway through I didn't want to put it down, even though I found the dual narration a little annoying.
