In a small local neighborhood in Mississippi brings a very strong racism issue to the table. In Clanton Mississippi Carl Lee and his five kids live, one day his youngest daughter goes to the market to buy groceries and comes home beaten raped and badly injured.
Carl lee: a well-mannered middle aged black man kills both of the boys who raped his daughter. Meanwhile Jake Brigance is a new starting lawyer that needs a special job to boost his career, could this be it? Carl lee has no money to defend himself but needs a lawyer to defend him.
The plot of the book is great because this could actually happen. The strong case of racism, and with the KKK trying to return once more. This story will drop your jaw as you unfold what is to be a great ride. I learned that no matter how you try to think there are still bad people out there. I would like to reccomend this book to a group of people who love a great ride.
