I went into this book torn, and I left the book torn. I LOVE me some Zombie stories and they scare me so much, in a fun way, and they haunt my dreams. But, Unicorns are just funny. Always. And, this anthology of short stores gave me a lot more options for Unicorns-they can also be scary. And snooty. The editors back and forth made me laugh frequently as they set up the stories. Although, I found Justine's only bashing zombies and not giving us more reasons for loving on Zombies more, lazy. She was funny, but I found myself standing up for Holly (in my head of course, I wasn't yelling at the book, promise) more because she actually explained the history of Unicorns in literature, etc.

Some of the stories are really funny, some are really dark and serious, and some find a good balance between the two. The book is set up unicorn story, zombie story, unicorn story, zombie story, etc. The back and forth made it a really fun read. And, I found myself wanting to discuss each story with someone, anyone-but had no one since no one I know has read this! It also has introduced me to several more YA authors that I'm not at all familiar with, but will possibly/probably check out in the future.

If you like zombies, unicorns, and/or YA, this is totally the book for you!
