I liked this one better than the last, though not due to the heroine, that's for certain.
Characters:
Rehv.
I admit, at first I didn't like him, but by the end of this book, I really, really liked him. He'll never be one of my fave characters, but I like him quite a lot. He claims not to care for anyone, when this is obviously not the case. He puts those he cares for before him always, and never spares a thought for himself. Despite being a drug lord and a pimp, I still found him to be a good man/vampire. Plus, he was actually a pretty romantic guy. When he made dinner and set up candles and stuff for Ehlena...I died. That was so adorable and unexpected, and I think that was the moment I really started to care for him. And the way he talked to his sister, with such care and love...he made me melt, truly.
Ehlena.
Meh. Blah. That's what she is. There's just nothing remotely unique, special, or interesting about her. I didn't mind her in the beginning, but then, after she played the "I'm too good for you, you don't deserve my love" card with Rehv, I just started to despise her. I just wanted to rip her eyes out. And then, when she thought Rehv was dead...she didn't even care. She was like, Oh, it's a good thing I don't love him anymore, otherwise I'd have to be sad. Not my idea of a heroine. FINALLY, in the end, she did something moderately good, even though she was annoying while doing it. Her determination to rescue Rehv was the LEAST I'd expect out of a heroine, so it certainly didn't redeem her in my eyes.
John Matthew.
Nope. I hate him more than ever. He's selfish and cruel, and the way he treated Xhex was despicable. Also, he refused to reply to any of Qhuinn's and Blay's calls or texts just because he was in a bad mood, and they were all dead worried about him...but he just didn't care. He only ever has a thought for himself. He's all boohoohoo etc...
Xhex.
I'm honestly undecided on her right now. I liked her loyalty, but, honestly, she's a bit on the scary side. Not gonna lie. The way she enjoyed torturing that guy...I'm not much of a fan of sadists, but I can't say I dislike her. She's definitely an intriguing character.
Wrath/Beth.
I love these two. And Wrath develops even more in this book and becomes more likable. He's actually becoming one of my favorite brothers now, right after Z and Rhage. He really impressed me here, and I also still really like Beth--she's a sweetie.
Relationship:
Rehv/Ehlena.
Well, at first I quite liked them together. Their verbal sparring was amusing. Then it got better, when they finally got together. The love-making they did was actually pretty sweet and just pleasant. Then Ehlena ended things and they spent so much time apart, and I just don't feel that their relationship was developed enough. They didn't spend enough time together for me to truly believe in them. However, I don't think they're a bad couple. I just would have wished for a better heroine for Rehv.
This was a loooong book, and it did get boring at times, especially in Lash's POV. Way too much Lash, in my opinion.
I'd like to say that I liked Z a lot in this book. He's grown even since the last book in the series. Also, Lassiter. I love that guy, because he's actually funny--and I really don't think any of the characters in this book are funny, so it's nice to get some tiny bit of humor. I hope to see more of him in the future, because these books are dark and depressing and definitely need some "funny" to even things out.
Also, Blay and Qhuinn were not in this book NEARLY enough, and I so missed them (especially Qhuinn). I'm looking forward to seeing more of them, and can't wait until the next book in the series is released in March, because those two seriously need to get together. Ya'know?

When he first mentioned it by first thought was, "Huh?" Followed closely by, "WTF?"I know. It'd be sooooo weird.
Same here. Huh? And then, WTF? Yep. Exactly. And then, eew. No thank you. I mean, the mohawk I could get past, but the barb...it makes him seem like an alien, ahaha. I feel sorry for him, though.
Lol. I actually like mohawk's on some guys. It can look hot! What about the Princess? I don't know if you've met her yet, but she's freaky. Like something out of a bad Sci-Fi movie. Ick!
I felt sorry for Rev the moment you start to learn about his history and his life. Plus he's really good to Xhex, so i just wanted to give him a hug.
Mmm, I don't like mohawks, I can't lie, LOL. But I tend to be pretty picky about guy's hair ahaha. Um, YEAH, I've met that freakjob! LMAO! Her hands, haha, imagine having sex with her? It'd be like being with some freaky reptile, eeew.
I haven't read much about his past yet, but I do feel sorry for him...even though I don't really like him, LOL.
Oh, by the way, did you say that Rehv and Ehlena talk? LOL, I can't remember. Are they gonna spend more than a few pages together? :)

I'd never thought i'd like mohawks, but there was this one goth-ish guy at my school last year....*swoon* He rocked the mowhawk for a little while and ever since i've liked them on some guys. It has to suit though, and i don't like it when they have their hair shaved on the sides. That's ick!
Gah. She was so gross. Couldn't imagine sleeping with her. Groooossss!
I kinda feel sorry for him being with the princess and why he does it.
Krista (One Love) (Critical) wrote: "Oh, by the way, did you say that Rehv and Ehlena talk? LOL, I can't remember. Are they gonna spend more than a few pages together? :)"They do spend times together, but not that much. It's enough for me, you on the other hand.....
Haha, well, that makes sense! I mean, sometimes names can work that way for me. There are a few names I used to really hate, but then I would meet a guy with that name who would change my opinion. Ohhh, yeah, no shaved hair on the sides, lol. I totally feel sorry for him! Even more so now after his latest meeting with her. Can't wait for her to kick it.

LOL! Me, on the other hand!! Well, so far they seem to be at least talking some...more so than Cormia and Phury, anyway.
Krista (One Love) (Critical) wrote: "Haha, well, that makes sense! I mean, sometimes names can work that way for me. I think it's hilarious when you meet someone who's name totally doesn't suit them. It's funny as!
Yep. Gross!
I know! Plus he's doing it all the protect himself and Xhex. That's a lot to do.....especially considering she is, ah....extra, extra freaky.

ROFL! Yes, you. You like it when couples spend lots and lots of time talking and me it doesn't bother so much if they don't ;)
They do talk, he's just not exactly completely truthful or honest.
Hmmm, I don't think I've actually ever met someone whose name didn't suit them! *thinks about it* No, I still can't think of anyone, LOL, but I know what you mean. OH WAIT! I totally thought of someone. There's this girl named Deseree...and no, she does NOT look like a Deseree at all hahaa. Yep. He claims not to care about anyone, but obviously he does! Silly guy. :D

And yes, I like when couples spend lots of time together talking, just 'cause I think it builds their chemistry and relationship and I like to be critical, as we both know! =D

Exactly. I think it's cute in books where these mucho men clain not to care. And yet they do. So sweet!

I understand it too. Considering who he is and everything he's hiding it'd be more strange if he told her straight out rather than keeping things to himself.
LMAOOOOOOOO! HAROLD!? Oh. My. That's horrible! Such a waste of a hot guy, LOL! Harold sound like...an old guy with thick glasses at pink cheeks or something, hahaha. Yeah, I can imagine most people wouldn't look like a Jasmine. Yeah, it's sweet. At first I actually believed him, lol, but now it's obvious he's just dumb...in a cute way, of course.

XD
Hmmmm. It was 5pm there. Well, here i am =)
Yep. Gah. Can i rant to you? I need someone to rant to.....So, i've been applying to heaps of waitress jobs in the hopes of getting hired and this morning i got a call from one of them asking if i could come in for an interview. I told them yes and got ready straight away. Anyway when i got there the woman told me the position had been filled that morning. So i went ALL THE WAY THERE on three buses and a train to be told that.
I was so pissed, but in traditional nice Rachel style i just nodded and smiled and told them it was alright when what i really wanted to do was bang the woman's head upon the table. Grrrrr!
Ah! That sucks! What horrible, awful, terrible, no-good people! :D :D I've had similar experiences. I applied to this dog grooming place, 'cause they said they wre hiring when I went in, and then they said they'd call me the next day to come in for an interview...and they never called...so I called back and they said that I'd never filled out an app...Some people need to learn organization skills or something.
Ikr? Totally slack. I was really pissed cos it's stinking hot here and i dressed perfectly, sweltered and then had to come all the way home. Grrrr. I suppose it is for the best though when i think about it. If i'd gotten the job i'd have to travel all that way every day there and back where all the others i still have applications out to are closer.
Yes. They should know better by now.
LOL! Aww, poor you! Haha, no seriously, I hate when stuff like that happens. Gosh, I would totally suck at being a waitress, just saying. :D
I think i'd suck at first seeing how clumy i am, but you do get better after a while. So i'd loose a bit---- *snorts* Who am i kidding? A LOT---- of money out of my pay check at first, but i'd get better.
