Angela's review of Made in America
Made in America by Bill Bryson
Soooo good! Really interesting. So much information that I feel the need to read it again at least once. I like Bill Bryson´s style - he packs his book so full of facts and information but makes it read quickly rather than put you to sleep like so many other dense history books will. My only complaint (and a weak one) is that there were a couple of issues he addressed and left out information or rumors that I have heard frequently about the origins of certain words and expressions - normally that would be fine since you can´t expect an author to address every single aspect of the language in a 360 page informal history of such a broad topic. Nevertheless I found it a little disappointing. But overall a very good and interesting read!

So I'm nowhere near to finished with this book, but already I'm impressed with the loads of interesting facts Bill Bryson throws into every paragraph of this book - I have a feeling I'm going to have to read this one again because my tiny brain isn't quite capable of retaining all the details packed onto each page!
