really liked it
bookshelves: biography, history, politics
Read from January 16 to 29, 2011

Obviously not as polished and overall amazing as her later books - you can tell it was her first without looking at the jacket - but there's a lot of good material here. Her discussions with LBJ gave her lots of wonderful quotes and stories, and you get a vivid sense of what he was like in person.

The Freudian analysis sections were a bit of a slog to get through, but it was worth it. The discussions of his political methods and aims offered lots of insight and a new perspective into current politics.
