Despite the fact that this is one of the most heavy-handed books ever written, it did manage to hold my attention. I didn't really suffer at all, and even managed to chuckle a few times.
the thing is, it is a heartbreaking book, and the writing does flare with something pretty clouse to genius here and there (though I'm not sure about the staggering part).
