bookshelves: science-fiction, could-not-finish

First time i tried to read it, i wrote, "I give up. I don't like this book, don't like the people in it, don't care what happens/happened/will happen, don't like the style especially."

I've tried a couple times since then and failed to get any deeper than before. I might never try again because i doubt if i even own a copy of it anymore and i recently (within the last 3 weeks) went through all my books to shelve/re-shelve them and i don't remember seeing it. There are so many more books in the world that i expect to like that i can't envision giving this one yet another shot.

[Apr 3, 1998, is probably when i wrote everything above. May 7, 2015: a friend asked me recently about this book; i told him i probably wouldn't remember anything; now that i've looked at this "review," that's inevitable because i probably never read the whole thing even though i have been walking around for years with the notion that i did read it. Memory is a waste of neurons.]
