Prior to reading this I had read Norwegian Wood and Kafka on the Shore and liked those in different ways. However in neither way was I sure of. Reading his short stories were a nice change in pace from his novels, however I was equally unsure of what I thought of them. After a while I just got tired of getting to the end of a story and feeling that he was just trying to write as messed up a story as possible and with no type of resolve at the end. It wasn't until one story where the main character said there was little to no point to his story that I actually liked that one story. Some of the stories stuck out as being better than others.
