I expected to learn about training horses and didn't. I guess I maybe went into reading it with the wrong mindset. The Man Who Listens to Horses is basically about what he had done in his life. I wanted it to be more about the horses instead of him.

782686 I read this one a long time ago. I liked it well enough when I read it, though I was disappointed that it wasn't more about training too. Then I read a bunch of stuff about how Monty Roberts was sort of a fake, his family claimed that he made up a bunch of stuff in the book, like living with the mustangs, saying that he had never done that.
He claimed that when they made the movie "The Horse Whisperer" they made it about him, but the guys that made it said that when they met him & he was wearing a Rolex watch & driving a Roles Royce, they knew he was not their man.
All that kind of ruined it all for me. One of the SEALs, Andy has a good friend that worked for Monty Roberts for a while & it sounds like he's not such a great person.
I'm sure he knows a lot about horses, but he obviously has some very big character flaws.
