I had previously read this play in high school, but had forgotten much of what had happened in it other than the central relationship between Lil Bit and Peck. I can say that I didn't find it nearly as "creepy" this time as I had read Lolita in the past year or so and could see so much of the influence of that story in 'How I Learned to Drive' and I loved the choice that Paula made to create this from her perspective, so you could feel much more of a feminine voice behind it. I love the unique format that she chooses to use in this play, her utilization of the Greek chorus, and how often her writing almost becomes so intimate and cinematic. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
