it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, mystery, romance, contemporary

I really enjoyed this romance/murder-mystery, which takes place in a small town on the Oregon coast. I've spent a little time there and the author completely evokes the things I love about the Pacific Northwest beach towns: the quirky little communities, the surround-sound beauty of the scenery, and of course the weird, wonderful little used bookstores.

I haven't read a lot of contemporary romances, but this book makes me think I should. I really enjoyed the steamy love affair between the lovable (and relatable) bookstore owner, Charlie, and the drifter she falls for. Great escapism, with a cast of supporting characters whose dialog occasionally made me laugh out loud. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to get lost for a few hours.
