Watchmen by Alan Moore
As good as it gets. Really. As good as most great literature. If you haven't read it, you must. Definitely before the movie comes out, because I can't imagine a movie doing it justice. It has by far the best "great reveal" by a villain that I've read. One of my favorite reading experiences ever.
