Oprah is right about this one---it should be read by any woman who's ever been on a diet. I've been doing Weight Watchers on and off for five years, and although WW is helping me manage my weight I think all the counting tends to reactivate an old eating disorder. Reading Portia de Rossi's account of her battle with anorexia, which developed partly in response to the requirements of her jobs as a model and actress made me wonder how many people on WW are driving themselves crazy, and whether Jennifer Hudson is holding up okay under the contractual pressure to remain slender. Book is honest and eloquent with many unflinching scenes. Contains numerous misspellings; could have used a better copyeditor/proofreader. On the topic of anorexia I would also recommend the novel Life-Size by Jenefer Shute.
