Initially, it was bad. Girl, the main character, wasn't likable and in the first few chapters, you didn't know where the story was going and I was just like, "Yeah, yeah, is it the last page already???" But despite of that and the bad reviews I caught online, I continued reading because I believe that every author deserves the chance... to be given a second chance. And the premise of the story was highly interesting for me, if not relatable, because Girl here was trying to sort her life with a new job (that demanded so much from her and credited so little of her.)
ANYWAY.
So, in the middle, it kind of got worse. Nothing was going right in the story, either for me or for Girl. And the generic names of the characters such as Guy, Angel, Jeffrey, etc., except for Girl's boyfriend Buster, became vair annoying already! First I let it go by thinking that maybe Emma and Nicola wanted to let the readers know that this story and the characters could be and happen to anyone but HELL, I WANT A UNIQUE VOICE HERE WHY AM I NOT GETTING ANY.
The worst thing is: the story talks about feminism this and feminism that, but I didn't get no real feminism! Or was the whole thing like a satire? Gosh, at least this book got me into thinking a bit... about why some authors don't deserve the second chance.
