General response/reaction:
This was my favorite book when I read it and still is. It makes you laugh and cry. I had to stay up nights so I could finish chapters.
Subjects, Themes, and Big Ideas: Love, honesty

Characters: Katie and Matt are the main characters

Plot summary: Katie and Matt are a great couple and very close. They are close to getting married until Matt disappears. He leaves Katie a journal. She thinks he left her for a girl in the city but she comes to find after reading the journal that he used to have a wife and a son and they died in a horrible car accident. After learning this, Katie finds Matt and they finally understand each other completely.
