it was ok
bookshelves: thrillers

This book wasn't terrible, but it wasn't particularly good, either. I was disappointed in that the "Emperor's Tomb" of the title, the resting place of Qin Shi, the famous Chinese ruler, was actually a very small part of the story. There was little historical intrigue (like in, say, "The Da Vinci Code"), instead it was more modern-day political intrigue with historical factoids thrown in. The more history the better for me, so that was a turn-off. Perhaps most telling was that thrillers are supposed to keep you on the edge of your seat, and yet I was a bit bored the whole time.
