The Last Time I Saw Paris

Lara Lewis has spent almost a year planning a second honeymoon, for her 25th wedding anniversary, when her husband Bill, a famous Heart Surgeon tells her that they will have to postpone it because he will working overseas at that time and cannot go. She is devastated and realizes then that Bill is having an affair with one of his assistants.
In the meantime Lara has just met Dan Holland, who is 32 to her 45, she decides to take him on the holiday to France with her. They have a disastrous start to their trip and this makes her look back on her honeymoon and as she does she remembers that it was not the great vacation that she had remembered. This trip too has it’s up and downs, towards the end of the trip Dan finds out this was to have been a honeymoon trip and Lara’s husband turns up wanting her back. She realizes though that it is Dan who she loves and that her and Bill have never really been a great team.
Listening to this book to me was like taking a trip to France yourself, at times I could imagine myself in the places that they visited.
