** spoiler alert ** Well i just previously finished reading The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien. I was acually on par with what people say about how good of a writer he is and i was quite happy about reading the book. The reason I chose this book was because i have read and seen the movies to all three sequels, The Fellowship of The Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of The King. But not the hobbit and i was very excited to read it and be able to put all the puzzle pieces together To my standpoint this book is the most peaceful and adventurous. Unlike the other three books this one really let my mind just wonder about what could happen next in the book and just kept me reading and reading.
The Hobbit had so many things good about it that i wouldnt be able to name them all. But one of them was J.R.R Tolkiens' way to imaginate things to keep on writing about it just kept going and sadly it had to end. One if my favorite parts of the book is when they have to stay the night in the cave but its ends up be a secert troll cave and they all get taken prisonor and are about to be killed but gandolf the wizard saves them. But as they are escaping Bilbo falls into a crevase and meets golem and finds the "ring of power" the golem despratly needs he refers to it as my presous and then Bilbo tricks him and escapes. It was very nerve raking because you didnt know what would happen to him, would he live or would he die? you just didnt know.
Although the book was great and i absoulty loved it the only thing i didnt like was that once the book hit the climax they seemed to wrap it up very fast like a chapter or two. One other thing the book was too good for only being 300 pages. He should of made it longer and i thought that would of made it MUCH better if he would of not of rushed so fast through parts and put some more detail into it.
The part i was talking about earlier was that at the climax was after all the wars were over, well he wrapped it up quite quick and i thought he could of made it a little better. The part to me that seemed to fall short was the ending of the book. After this great journy he just packs his bagges and goes home. To me it felt like he just wanted to get the book over and done with so he could publish it. That was the only disapointment in the whole book to me was how it wrapped up. It was the worst way to end a book for his caliber of writing. Two places in the book that need altering to me were at he very begining when Gandolf comes to speak with Bilbo it was so out of the blue i really thought he should have explaned it more than "we need a thirteenth member" because it was like well why did you chose Bilbo? Isnt there ANYONE else in that world of his? and oneother part Gandolf is supposed to be a main Character yet he is gone most of the times and only seems to only be around when they are half staved to death where is he when they get into that whole mess? and is he with them or not with them?
This book was a great book that i am planning to read over and over agian, and i would highly recommend it just because of how high of caliber the book was and just how it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and how i hated having to put the book down. It was a great book and if you think by what i wrote that i didnt like it well then you are very right! because i didnt like it i LOVED it! so i do recommend this book to everyone.
