Looking Glass Trilogy Book One (but still part of Arcane Society series): Fallon Jones has set up shop in Scargill Cove, Northern California, a place that seems to attract those with paranormal abilities, probably because of its location as a convergence of multiple powerful forces. He has been content in his isolation and rejection from his peers until his life is turned upside down by an organizational whirlwind who is using the name Isabella Valdez and has considerable talents of her own. There are a multiplicity of eccentric characters already in the town, including Walker, the apparently homeless man who acts as a watchman and a series of events lead Fallon and Isabella into a mystery involving some of the deadly artifacts created by Mrs. Bridewell who was able to infuse special glass with paranormal energies. Dealing with the dangers they are facing may require that Isabella learn to finally entrust someone else with her secrets and the search may very well shake the very foundations of the Arcane society itself. Excellent start to the series, can't wait for the sequel.
