When one first meets Eleanor and Marianne, if one has any experience of Jane Austen’s novels one automatically recognizes the characteristics instilled in these young women. Marianne’s passion, Eleanor’s sensibility, Willoughby’s cavalier disregarded for their feelings, it all feels familiar. My only previous Austen experience, had occurred the spring before, a brief stint in Washington, DC had provided me with an endless supply of reading time, with which to explore Austen. Unfortunately, the only available sustenance was Pride Prejudice the less fulfilling of the Austen Novels. This experience of Austen was fulfilling, entertaining and at times funny. In conclusion, Sense and Sensibility is in short a masterpiece. -EKB
