Wow. this has been by far the hardest introducing i've read. it's really quite full of stuff--good information and an understanding about semiotics--but i really felt jarred by the transitions. I feel like it could have been laid out differently and maybe been a bit smoother. Also, while the theory is definitely important, i felt like it lacked a certain historical context that i really like with this series. then again, maybe i just didn't get it and need to reread. Not right now though...
