This book is RIVETING. I didn't want to read it because I thought the subject was too hard. But I loved it. Told from the perspective of a five year old,(Jack), who has spent his entire life living inside a small room where he and his mother are held prisoner. His mother was abducted at the age of 19 and has been repeatedly raped: Jack was born 2 years later. I don't want to give away any of the plot, but the author is not writing just a sensational book. She develops some very thoughtful, interesting ideas, some of which, at least for me, were very unexpected. I read the book in two days and can't stop thinking about it. This is an intelligent book worth reading.
