Decent enough thrilled with a somewhat-unforeseen twist. Arguably, the twist comes a little late in the story and I found at the climax that I really didn't care very much about the characters (and therefore what was happening to them). Still, by the end of the story I found myself looking forward to the next in the series.

There are a couple of cringe-worthy moments in the book with a moderately high gore level, at times this seemed to take precedence over the story itself although it thankfully never descends into the 'Hostel' level of gratuitous violence. There are a few too many leaps of logic performed by the main characters, puzzle pieces seem to luckily fall into just the perfect spot, and overall this isn't a story meant to work your brain on the same level as a Dan Brown novel, by any stretch.

A fairly fun story, something to spend a few hours with and hopefully the writer matures a bit with the next offering. I'll at least give it another shot.
