Fascinating book about a typhoon that overtook the Third fleet and sunk three American ships and killed 800 sailors during WWII. Amazing to realize that destroyers could be pushed onto their sides by the wind and utterly pulled apart.

Only reason I didn't give the book 5 stars is that the first 9 or so chapters are all background on the fleet, admirals, the war, weather, weather forecasting, etc. All information that was critical to know but it would have been better to sprinkle that info into the story. Took too long to get the meat of the story, which really pulled you along.
