Chronologically, this book takes place between the time periods of book 4 and book 5. As Flanagan says in his foreward, he realized he sort of skipped over an important time of Will's life and Will and Halt's relationship. It was cool to go back and see some of those events.

Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It has most of the main characters all together again, and that's really the biggest strength of these books - the character moments and interactions.

But, really, the writing in general is just really quick and easy. There were events which I knew the general outcome would be favorable because of the timeline thing, but that didn't stop me from holding my breath a bit in tense anticipation as things unfolded.
