it was ok
bookshelves: biography, children-s-chapter-books, informational, tri-review

Madam C.J. Walker did invent her own hair treatments and beauty products, but that seems peripheral to the story of Madam C.J. Walker, entrepreneur. The slender volume provides solid factual information combined with interesting photographs detailing her journey from poverty to celebrity and fortune. It does not provide much support or detail to justify Walker’s inclusion as a “Great Inventor” -- or a genius. It is still an inspirational story of a woman with grit and determination who, through hard work and persistance “made good.”
